Apple is a highly respected brand when it comes to innovation, creativity and even technological superiority. No wonder everyone very much anticipated the release of the iPad and later on, the iPad 2. After all, such technology was not heard of prior to its release. As expected, however, the technology really is evolving fast and a lot of competitors have followed suit, giving consumers a lot to think about when they buy their tablet. Should they go for the iPad 2 because it is made by the prestigious Apple company and because it is the first or should they go for the Motorola Xoom because of its amazing features? Users say that it is built on the best features of the iPad making it even better. This is the battle between 2 prestigious technologies – Motorola Xoom VS iPad 2.

Motorola Xoom and iPad Compared

In the battle of Motorola Xoom VS iPad 2, let us compare the 2 based on several features, namely its hardware, screen resolution and camera. Let us discuss what the two have to offer in order to determine which one is in the lead.

The iPad uses single core processor while Xoom uses the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. This allows the tablet to process information in a faster and a smoother manner. It also gives it the capacity to be able to handle even 3D games. In terms of its hardware, Xoom quite clearly has the advantage. Now let us jump to the screen resolution.

One look at the iPad 2 and Xoom and you can easily tell that the Motorola Xoom has a wider screen by a couple of inches. To be exact, Xoom has a 10.1 inch screen while the iPad has 9.7 inches. The difference may not be much but for the users, they can clearly tell the difference between the two based on the screen size alone. Xoom allows for easier navigation and clearer browsing because its screen is wider. Of course, one cannot totally forget that its resolution also has a lot to do with it. Xoom has a 120 x 800p resolution while the iPad only has a 1024 x 768p resolution. Judging from the numbers alone, you may think that the difference is too minimal to be noticeable. However, when you try using it for yourself, you will discover that it holds a whole lot of difference. Watch a movie on an iPad 2 and using a Xoom and you will see the big difference that those numbers post.

In terms of camera, it is pretty easy to analyze. iPad has no camera but Xoom does not have only one but 2 – one in the front and another one in the rear. Both are great for taking photos for those that cannot seem to go anywhere without shooting pictures. It also does a great job for video chatting.
